The holiday season can be, as Dickens said (and apologies to him for any misquoting), the best of times and the worst of times.
It’s the end of the year and maybe deadlines loom; or maybe vacation time is only hours away. The holiday may bring together families for fun and revelry, and maybe happy reminiscing. This time may also highlight loneliness, loss and sorrow. You get it, it’s a time that may be happy, stressful and sad all at once.
So, be kind. Be kind to yourself, and just as importantly, be kind to those around you at work, in your personal lives and those who may need help but are hesitant for whatever reason to ask for it. If you are an Arizona lawyer or judge the Bar’s confidential peer support network volunteers are here for you. Yes, I said confidential.
Make a call to a volunteer if you need someone to talk to, someone to support your efforts at wellness and well-being. You can reach out on your own (the list is on the Bar’s website) or call our Member Assistance Program at 602-340-7334 if you’d like help deciding who to call.
